BasketFrog ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our browser extension and website (basketfrog.com) collect, use, and safeguard your information.
Information you provide: When you sign up for our waitlist, we collect your email address. When you use the extension, you manually add sites you want to flag — we store this data locally on your device.
Browsing data: The BasketFrog extension checks URLs you visit against your personal flagged-sites list. This comparison happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your browsing history on our servers.
Usage analytics: We may collect anonymized, aggregate usage statistics (such as how many users have the extension installed) to improve our service. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.
We use the information we collect to operate and improve BasketFrog, send you updates about the extension (if you opted into our waitlist), and provide a personalized shopping experience based on your chosen values. We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Your flagged sites, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. This means your data stays on your computer — we don't have access to your personal flagged-sites list. You can delete all stored data at any time by removing the BasketFrog extension.
BasketFrog may suggest ethical alternative products that include affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. These affiliate partnerships never influence which products we recommend — our recommendations are based solely on ethical criteria. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more details.
Our website (basketfrog.com) may use minimal cookies for basic functionality such as remembering your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
We may use third-party services for email collection (such as Formspree or Mailchimp) and website hosting (such as Netlify). These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We select services that align with our commitment to user privacy.
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. Our website uses HTTPS encryption, and extension data is stored securely using Chrome's built-in storage mechanisms. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
BasketFrog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you (primarily your email address if you joined our waitlist). You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly. You can delete all extension data by uninstalling BasketFrog from Chrome.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or through the extension. Your continued use of BasketFrog after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please reach out to us at hello@basketfrog.com.
